8. Who provides which equipment?
Clients should bring
Personal clothing, underwear, socks, personal medicines, essential eyewear, toiletries, and other individual necessities. Bring your own well-fitting boots whenever possible.
Clients may rent or purchase
Sleeping bags, down jackets, boots, helmets, harnesses, crampons, ice axes, and other personal climbing equipment, subject to availability and suitability.
Nepal Voyage Treks should confirm
Group tents, fixed ropes, shared technical equipment, meals, camp facilities, communication, emergency arrangements, and oxygen provisions where applicable. All inclusions must be stated in the written expedition package.
9. Final mountain expedition checklist
Before leaving Kathmandu for the mountain, clients should check that their equipment fits correctly, their technical gear is compatible, and all essential items are ready.
- Clothing and cold-weather protection
- Mountaineering boots and compatible crampons
- Helmet, harness, and route-specific climbing equipment
- Sleeping bag and personal camping supplies
- Headlamp, batteries, navigation, and communication essentials
- Sunglasses, goggles, sunscreen, and lip protection
- Personal medical kit and prescription medicines
- Water bottles and summit-day snacks
- Passport, permits, and insurance documentation
- Written confirmation of Nepal Voyage Treks' equipment inclusions
- Final equipment inspection with the climbing guide
The UIAA advises climbers to check equipment compatibility, sizing, authenticity, condition, and manufacturer instructions before use. Never rely on appearance alone to determine whether technical equipment is safe.
